Governance

The Centre for Energy Literacy is committed to strong governance, transparency, and accountability.

This page explains how the organisation is governed and where key documents can be found.

Legal status

The Centre for Energy Literacy is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (application submitted).

We operate for public benefit and are governed in accordance with our constitution and applicable charity law.

Trustees

The Centre for Energy Literacy is overseen by an independent board of trustees.

Trustees are responsible for:

  • Ensuring activities further the charitable purpose
  • Overseeing financial stewardship and risk

Trustee profiles are published on the About page, where applicable.

The board of trustees:

  • Meets regularly
  • Reviews activities and performance
  • Approves major policies and decisions

Day-to-day activities are carried out in line with board-approved policies and delegated authority.

Independence and conflicts of interest

The Centre for Energy Literacy is independent and non-commercial.

We have procedures in place to:

  • Identify and manage conflicts of interest
  • Ensure decisions are made in the charity’s best interests
