Accessibility statement
The Centre for Energy Literacy is committed to making its website accessible to as many people as possible.
We want everyone to be able to use this site, regardless of disability, technology, or circumstance.
Our commitment
We aim to make our website accessible in line with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA standard.
Accessibility is especially important to us because our work supports people who may be under financial stress or using older devices or assistive technologies.
How accessible this website is
We aim for this website to be usable for most people. You should be able to:
- Change colours, contrast levels, and fonts using your browser or device
- Zoom in up to 200% without text spilling off the screen
- Navigate most of the site using a keyboard or screen reader
- Understand content written in plain, clear language
We design pages to work on low-end mobile devices and slower connections.
Known limitations
We are aware that some parts of the site may not yet be fully accessible. For example:
- Some PDF documents may not be fully optimised for screen readers
- Older content may not always follow our current accessibility standards
We are working to address these issues as part of ongoing improvement.
What we are doing to improve accessibility
We are taking the following steps to improve accessibility:
- Writing content in plain English
- Using clear headings and consistent page structure
- Reviewing content regularly
- Improving accessibility of PDFs and downloadable materials over time
Accessibility is considered when new content or features are added.
